The development of Internet in Tunisia comes to reconfigure the Tunisian political scene. Indeed, for a few years, one has noted in Tunisia new forms of activism, of expression of social criticism on Internet. This reappropriation of the technological developments leads to new militant practices developing independently of the traditional institutions (left wing, trade unions, etc), but also of the official borders. The websites and online-forums were created in order to propose alternative, more transparent and more critical information, like proposing new spaces of debate. The phenomenon of the blogs – generally personal – also touched Tunisia, but criticism is not very frequent there. However, when it develops, we can notice very argued exchanges, in comments but also between different blogs. Among the many original forms of mobilization and denunciation made possible by Internet, one can quote the demonstration on line of Tunisian Yezzi.org or the Chart of the Prison. On these mediatized spaces, the defenders of the democracy see in the Internet an invaluable tool to circumvent the obstacles to with the freedom of expression and association drawn up by the Tunisian regime, and in the long term, to form common opinions ready to make pressure on the mode (especially via the international opinion). Internet et Espace public : Le cyberactivisme tunisien

Le développement d’internet en Tunisie vient reconfigurer le paysage politique tunisien. En effet, depuis quelques années, on constate en Tunisie de nouvelles formes d’activisme, d’expression de la critique sociale sur internet. Cette réappropriation des développements technologiques conduit à de nouvelles pratiques militantes se développant indépendamment des institutions traditionnelles (partis, syndicats, etc.), mais également des frontières étatiques. Des sites 2 et forums tunisiens ont été créés en vue de proposer une information alternative, plus transparente et plus critique, ainsi que proposer de nouveaux espaces de débat. Le phénomène des blogs – généralement personnels – a également touché la Tunisie, mais la critique s’y fait plus rare. Cependant, lorsqu’elle s’y développe, on constate des échanges très argumentés, en commentaires mais aussi entre blogs. Parmi les nombreuses formes originales de mobilisation et de dénonciation rendues possibles par internet, on peut citer la manifestation en ligne de Yezzi.org ou encore la Carte des Prison Tunisiennes 3 . Sur ces espaces médiatisés, les défenseurs de la démocratie voient dans l’internet un outil précieux pour contourner les obstacles à la liberté d’expression et d’association dressés par le régime tunisien, et à terme, former des opinions communes aptes à faire pression sur le régime (surtout par l’intermédiaire de l’opinion internationale).
